CPS Sketch #37

Here's my take on CPS #37 :)

And here's another simple card I made since I already had a mess going ;)

Someone new to love.

The girls got to meet their new cousin for the first time last Friday. They wanted to hold her so bad, and when they finally got to you could just see the delight on their faces. Autumn slept for most of our visit, and I had to laugh when Madison asked "what else does she do?" :) The girls have never really been around a tiny baby before. Samantha was too little to remember Madison as a baby. And Madison, until now, was the youngest in our family and also among most of our friends. It was sweet to see them watch and ask questions.

Happy Halloween

I love that as the girls get older, they get more and more into Halloween! This year Samantha dressed up as Silvermist, a water fairy who is a friend of Tinkerbell. And Madison was a pink princess...but the cool thing about her costume were the fiber optic threads that made the dress twinkle!! My sister and her boyfriend drove down from Sacramento to go trick-or-treating with us, which delighted the girls to no end! I got them to eat a few bites of dinner and stand still long enough to snap one picture of each before heading out the door! Halloween is huge in our neighborhood, there are tons of kids and everyone is out. It ends up being a big social thing for the adults, lol! By the time we came full circle and were almost home, the girls' bags were so full of candy they could hardly carry them. When we got home they dumped it all out and were just in awe. But, not 10 minutes later they had both fallen asleep on the couch. Here's a couple of pics...

Carving Pumpkins

After our trip to the pumpkin patch, the girls were all excited to carve their pumpkins. They weren't too thrilled with the idea of scooping pumpkin guts...there were lots of comments like, "ewww", "squishy", "slimey", "yucky" - well you get the picture! In the end, with help from Daddy, we had four cute little Jack o' lanterns.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

I make this bread every fall for our friends and family. It's so good and a huge hit :)

I'm going shopping for the ingredients tomorrow so I can make some for our neighbors. They are moving 2500 miles away and we are so sad to see them go. They have been such wonderful neighbors and became good friends as well. When Jeff was in his accident, the husband came to the door with the officer to break the news to me. Then they volunteered to keep my children so I could rush to the hospital. They are truly some of the best people we know.

The moving company came today to start packing them up. The truck arrives Wed. and they leave Thurs. morning. I well up with tears at the thought of them leaving, but we've all promised to keep in touch. So, I'm sending them off with some yummy goodness to remember us by ;)

October kit at Inspire Me Card Kits

I finally finished up my projects using the October kit at Inspire Me Card Kits :) I had so much fun playing with this kit! The first two pics are of a cute little pocket I made into a birth annoucement for my niece. The tag has all her birth info. I just couldn't resist scrapping that darling photo, the Making Memories Noteworthy papers were perfect for it ;) Next, is a layout that actually has a picture of me...imagine that?!?! Jeff took that shot while we were in Santa Cruz this past September. The quote on the layout reads: "I dropped a tear in the ocean, and whenever they find it, that's when I'll stop loving you...only then." Then a couple of cards using goodies from Making Memories and Fancy Pants (the "for your birthday" card uses sketch #36 from CPS). Lastly, is a layout of Samantha playing in the rain...love, love, love that glitter chipboard! Thanks for looking, I'm off to clean up my messy scrap table now, lol!

At the pumpkin patch.

Over the last week, me and the girls have taken turns being sick. And because of that we missed Samantha's preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch. So today, with everyone feeling better, Jeff and I took the kids to our local pumpkin patch. It was the first time in a week that we'd been out of the house, and the girls needed to burn off some energy. We did the corn maze, petting zoo, the haybale maze, tractor ride and the grand finale...picking pumpkins! What's funny is that Samantha said she was looking for the "perfect pumpkin", which ended up being this little one she could easily carry. Madison on the other hand found this huge pumpkin she could barely carry!! That right there says a whole lot about the individual personalities of our girls ;) Here's some pics from our day...
