Reality...

A glimpse at the reality of my life, because it really is ok. I am not the perfect homemaker, wife or mother but that's ok. I have laundry, dishes, bills that need to be dealt with and sometimes it seems like the only thing that gets me through to the end of the day is a constant stream of Pepsi. Some days are better than others, sometimes the house looks better than others. The important thing is that my girls are happy and healthy, I have a wonderful husband and friends who don't mind that I'm not perfect.

These pictures aren't perfect, but that's reality and it is ok!

This and that...

Got a new purse today, which is monumental! I haven't bought a new purse in ages, and the one I've been carrying was a cast off from my sister-in-law. Just a Target cheapy, but I'm in L-O-V-E! So, a la Christina, I snapped a shot using my beloved Rebel...

My little monkey who is always on the go! I've been trying without success to catch a shot of her sleeping. Finally, today I captured this...

With Jeff working the graveyard shift, the girls don't get to spend a whole lot of time with him during the week. So when he wakes up in the afternoon, a few hours before leaving for work, the girls pretty much attack him! It really is sweet, they get so excited, jumping all around, singing, dancing...just crazy! This particular day, they climbed in his lap and begged him to read one of their favorite books. These moments touch my heart...

Oh, and Madison officially is a book worm! She'll find herself a comfy spot, crack open a book, and "read" to herself. It's just the cutest darn thing to listen to her jabber on and on! Note the singing Cinderella book, which is a current favorite...

Not quite, but almost...

I've been totally inspired to get my scrap space in shape!!! After reading the current BHG Scrapbooks Etc. and seeing the room they featured, I got the organization itch...again. This room is the Grand Prize for the BHG Scrapbook Etc. Your Perfect Space Sweepstakes. Now, I've gone ahead and entered the contest, but I'm not getting my hopes up! So, in the meantime I'm gonna work toward making the space I have look similar to the Grand Prize Room, since I absolutely L-O-V-E it! I've already got the maple wood desk with dark countertop, and the green walls!

My space is something I've been pecking away at for more than a year, but have never made any major progress. Well, now I'm determined!! The room in the magazine is similar to what I already have, I just need to decorate and organize. I want to add some black shelves and frames, finally put up my MM Modular boards (a year later), put drawer pulls on the desk, and Jeff agreed that when we get new floors in the house we can put hardwood in here!! Bit by bit, I'm determined to get my scrap stash under control, organized, and functional. I vow, pledge and promise!!

Here's my space in it's current state of disaster. It actually doesn't look that bad in the pictures, but what you can't see is that all my stuff is shoved into bins and I can't find a dang thing!

New blog banner...

I'm really diggin' it!! I have to admit that after seeing Tracey's new banner I was inspired to do one as well. I think Tracey's in fabulous and as soon as I get some good pics of the family I'm gonna do one like hers!

Used the April Free {pea} Kit by Rhonna Farrer.

Pigtails...

Monday, June 19th

Oh my goodness!!! Today was the first day that I was able to put pigtails in Madison's hair and have them last longer than 30 seconds!!! I've been trying for awhile to do something with her hair to keep in out of her eyes, it's getting so long but I refuse to cut it. Well, today for whatever reason she kept the pigtails in! They stick up all over the place and look cute in a goofy kinda way, but they get the job done. By the way, do you know how hard it is to put pigtails in a wiggly 18 month old?!?!?

Happy Father's Day...

Sunday, June 18th

It was a laid back, easy day...just the way Jeff wanted it. In fact, he told me he planned to park his behind on the couch with drink in hand and watch every sporting event on tv that day! I let him sleep in, then when he got up the girls gave him their cards and the trailer chock things he wanted. The girls had gotten all into coloring on their cards and Samantha remembered to say "Happy Father's Day", all of this seemed to really touch Jeff. We had dinner with Jeff's brother and his family and had a great time! The girls love playing with their cousin's. We came back home, and a little bit later my sister arrived. The girls got baths and then both of them and Jeff, who had to be at work by 6am, went to bed. Lisa and I took the opportunity to watch a movie and chat before she left around midnight. A good day all in all!

Here are a couple of shots I got that morning while Madison "helped" Daddy shave...too cute!! Not to worry, in the 2nd pic Jeff had taken the blade out of the razor.

Typical morning...

Saturday, June 17th

For {Snapshots of a Saturday} this week I took this...a typical morning in our house. Notice that Madison has already been changed out of her jammies because she spilled on them (and it wasn't even 8am yet!). Neither of them are big breakfast eaters, they prefer a sippy cup of juice and some dry cereal (usually Cherrios) in a plastic baggy while they watch their favorite morning cartoons: Little Einsteins, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, and JoJo's Circus to name a few.
