It's with complete impatience that I wait for the new Rascal Flatts CD "Me and My Gang" to be released on April 4th. Seriously, I'll be the first in line.
I love music, but am ashamed to confess that if it's not in the genre of country...I'm completely clueless. Not something I'm proud of, but nonetheless true. I grew up listening to country, because that's what my parents listened to and to this day I can sing the lyrics to just about any of the "old" songs. In high school when Pop was cool with everyone else, I was the uncool one doin' my country thing. Tried to conform, but eventually went back to my roots.
I should branch out, I know, so at the very least I'd know who the heck people are talking about, listening to. But, I'm in a wonderful rut and I like it that way. The songs just speak to me, I can relate. Take for instance Perfect by Sara Evans, reminds me that I don't have to be everything to everyone, that Jeff loves me for who I am. Something I need to be reminded of every so often and this song does that for me, in a big way.
If you don't take me to Paris
on a lovers' getaway
it's alright, it's alright
If I'd rather wear your t-shirt
than a sexy negligee
it's alright, it's alright
Every dinner doesn't have to be candlelit
It's kinda' nice to know that it doesn't
have to be
Perfect
Maybe every little piece of the puzzle
doesn't always fit
Perfectly
Love can be rough around the edges
tattered at the seams
Honey if it's good enough
for you it's good enough for me
If your mother doesn't like the way
I treat her baby boy
it's alright, it's alright
If in every wedding picture
my daddy looks annoyed
it's alright, it's alright
Don't you know that all the fairy tales
tell a lie
'cause real love and real life
doesn't have to be
Perfect
Maybe every little piece of the puzzle
doesn't always fit
Perfectly
Love can be rough around the edges
tattered at the seams
Honey if it's good enough
for you it's good enough for me
Oh you don't mind if I show up late for everything
When you lose your cool
It's kinda' cute to me
Hey ain't it nice to know that we don't have to be
Perfect
Maybe every little piece of the puzzle
doesn't always fit
Perfectly
Love can be rough around the edges
tattered at the seams
Honey if it's good enough
for you it's good enough for me
Oh, it's good enough for me
Yeah, you're good enough for me
Oh, you're good enough for me

i know i'm loving Rascal Flatts' new one "What Hurts the Most". they sure can pick good songs to sing. and they tour with BLake Shelton!! i saw him in concert & loved him. that has got to be one rockin' concert.
i like more than just country but country just feels like home to me. it's what i'm most drawn to. probably because like Trace sings "they're songs about me...and who I am..." =)
it is totally OKAY to love what you love...if it's country..well COOL!!!! :)
I love country music too. My favorite Rascall Flatts is "Bless the Broken Road". Right now I'm loving Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffett "5:00 Somewhere". I'm so ready for my island vacation I can hardly stand myself.
funny how our parents can influence our music, even if we don't want to admit it! lol! i love country too!
Not a huge country fan but do have my moods when I wanna listen to it. That video is very powerful! WOW!
