County Fair...

You know summer has finally arrived when the County Fair opens up! My mom and I took the girls this evening for a couple of hours...mostly to see the 4-H/FFA animals, do the pony rides, and take in the "sights" what little there was to see. After buying our tickets and walking thru the gates we headed to the back of the grounds towards the barns, checking out the booths along the way (we didn't buy anything though). Madison and Samantha were enthralled by the animals, giggling and laughing at all the noises they made. We saw goats, llamas, sheep, pigs, steers, horses, chickens, turkeys, and rabbits. I think the favorite was the pigs though, they both just couldn't get enough! Walking thru the 4-H/FFA barns brought back a lot of memories for me...for several years during Jr. High and High School I was there with my animals. Those were fun times!

So, after the animals we took Samantha and Madison to the pony rides. Samantha did it last year and loved it, but this would be Madison's first time. Oh my gosh, while they waited their turn they were both jumping up and down with impatience and Samantha kept asking when it would be her turn. It was actually quite comical! Once we finally got them on the ponies they were both grinning from ear to ear (although Samantha was a little nervous at first when she realized I wouldn't be walking next to her because I had to walk with Madison). Madison squealed with delight the whole time, even made the guys operating the ride smile! Samantha got over her nerves and really seemed to have fun and felt like such a big girl for doing it all by herself, I was so proud!!
